Abstract Nowdays, the centralized guidance of macroeconomic development in our country is turning from district inclination to industry inclination. Naturally, Xinjiang becomes the development emphasis in the Northwest area, owning to its abundant resource and strong economic base. This paper analyses the characteristics and problems of industrial structure, investment, tourism, development of Science and technology in Xinjiang, especially in Northern Xinjiang and probes into the way to promote economic development, especially in Xinjiang.
